HOW DOES THE LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE WORK?
Call 908-236-6109. If no one is available, leave your name, phone number and a brief description of the problem. OR email the information above to hcba@patmedia.net. All information will be kept confidential. Within 24 hours, you will be given the name and telephone number of a lawyer in your area who participates in the LRS. You will then call the lawyer for an appointment and let them know you received their name from the LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE.

• The referral is FREE
• All lawyers referred meet specific standards of qualification
• All lawyers referred carry malpractice insurance

IS THERE A CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE?
There is no fee for the name of any lawyer. The lawyer shall charge a $75 fee, payable to the Hunterdon County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service. After that, the lawyer's regular fees apply. For all personal injury matters, malpractice or worker’s compensation case, the first hour is free to you. The attorney to whom you are referred will pay the $75 referral fee on your behalf Be sure to bring all pertinent documents and information with you so that the lawyer has all the facts about your case in order to advise you.

AM I OBLIGATED TO CALL THE LAWYER?
No. The choice is yours. Over the past two years, over 1,100 county residents and others have been referred to local attorneys through this program.
